Social Worker

Lisa is a registered Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and holds a Specialist Certificate in Criminology.  Lisa has also completed her training in EMDR.  Lisa worked for many years as an emergency services worker in both Tasmania and Queensland and has a strong understanding of the complexities of working in this field.  She has also worked extensively with victims of crime. She has performed the role of a Wellbeing Support Officer, supporting all Emergency Service Workers, volunteers and their families. She has a solid understanding of the many challenges that Emergency Services and their families face and has supported clients after multiple critical incidents. Lisa has a background of working in child abuse and child exploitation. She has a strengths-based framework which focuses on assisting clients achieve their goals by creating a safe and compassionate space where they feel valued and heard. Lisa works with both adults and children and uses play based and art therapy to engage with her clients. In her free time, she enjoys renovating, cooking, baking, reading and taking her dogs to the beach.
