Kristy Jackson

Senior Social Worker

Kristy Jackson is an AASW‑accredited and Mental Health Accredited Social Worker with postgraduate training in developmental psychiatry and mental health. She has extensive experience working with individuals, parents, and children across the lifespan, and brings a warm, compassionate, and trauma‑informed approach to her practice.

Kristy has a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma and chronic stress. Her work integrates evidence‑based, body‑aware therapies to help clients build safety, regulate emotions, and reconnect with a sense of agency in their lives. She draws on relaxation and grounding strategies, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills to support clients in managing distress and improving overall wellbeing.

Kristy is a member of the AASW Social Work and Mindfulness Practice Group and is strongly influenced by contemporary trauma research, including the work of Bessel van der Kolk and other leaders in mind–body approaches to recovery from mental ill‑health. She is also a certified Trauma‑Sensitive Yoga facilitator through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment, integrating body‑based practices to support nervous system regulation, safety, and recovery.

Outside of work, Kristy enjoys attending yoga and Pilates classes and spending time with her much‑loved dachshund, Nigel.
