Toni has been a Registered Nurse for nearly 30 years and has worked as a Mental Health Nurse for over 20 years. Originally from NZ, she relocated to Sydney in her early 20’s to attend a dance school, then in 2004 moved to the Northwest coast of Tasmania. As well as being an RN, she has a graduate diploma in Dance and Movement Therapy and has extensive experience in adult mental health, using CBT, DBT, mindfulness, creative and body-orientated therapies. Her interests include complex trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression; and she is passionate about all health services utilising a trauma-informed perspective. She is also (very slowly) studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science through UNE.
Toni’s role at Psychology CAFFE consists of triage and assessment, helping us allocate clients to the right treatment and clinician, and short term/brief therapy interventions. When not at work, studying or doing the school run, Toni can be found hanging out with her young family and dog, crocheting, camping, or procrastinating about the unending housework and gardening.
