Veronica is an AHPRA registered Psychologist of 30 years with experience working across the private, not for profit and government sectors with children, young people and their families in the areas of disability, mental health, child safety, family violence, and youth justice. Veronica is skilled at both individual and group work and is passionate about working with children and young people to overcome challenges, reach their full potential and live happy and fulfilling lives. She is also committed to sharing her knowledge and experience with others by providing training, peer support and professional supervision.
Veronica’s particular interest and expertise is in supporting children and young people who have been impacted by developmental trauma and those who live with complex and multiple diagnoses and she has completed research and published in this area. Veronica takes a collaborative approach, including parents, carers and other key people throughout all stages of assessment and care. Veronica is skilled at conducting comprehensive assessments and developing and implementing detailed treatment plans that bring together an integrated model of care to ensure the very best outcomes. She is guided by a combination of therapeutic models and interventions that are tailored to individual needs including trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, person centered therapy, mindfulness and relaxation, multi-element behaviour support and play based approaches.
When she is not working, Veronica can be found playing her piano, walking her dogs on the beach or hanging out with her horses.
