Baxter is the Principal Psychologist at Psychology CAFFE working both therapeutically and providing support for our growing clinical team. With a strong interest in utilising holistic approaches to mental health, Baxter’s experiences have enabled him to incorporate multiple approaches (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT, Theraplay and Positive Behaviour Support) to assist individuals to meet their therapy goals. Baxter enjoys working with children who are experiencing behaviour challenges and focuses on the importance of working within the family unit for best outcomes. In addition to clinical practice, Baxter’s research interest lies in problematic video game use, with publications in the field.
Baxter was born in the United States however, has lived the majority of his life in small country towns across Australia. Because of this he is passionate about providing evidence based practice to rural communities. Baxter enjoys spending his free time fishing, playing video games, and walking his dogs Boof and Hammy.
